Thoughts From My Heart
"In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the
beginning with God. All things came into being by Him,
and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come
into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light
of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the
darkness did not comprehend it. There was the true light
which, coming into the world was made through Him, and
the world did not know Him." John 1:1-5,9-10. No one can really believe that this planet, this world is the result of some cosmic accident. there just has to have been some guiding force behind its creation. Some force which involved himself in the creation of creatures which inhabit this planet. Deep inside man has always known this. He has sought through the centuries to pay respect, to acknowledge, and to even worship this force. Often times because man did not know the true God, he would worship many false gods. Trees, rocks, the forces of nature or the universe have often been the focus of mans attention. Man has sought God, but found things to worship which were in fact created by God. The prophet Isaiah in chapter 44, tells the story of a man who cuts down a tree. He uses part of this tree to build a fire. Over this fire he roasts a roast to eat and is satisfied. He warms himself by the fire and is warm. The rest of the tree he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, "Deliver me for thou are my god." Mankind is so easily deceived to worship some god or ideology that did not create him. That has no real power in the world today. Because of the deep inner yearning to worship the creator, man has through the ages looked for God in some way to reveal Himself. In times past he has mistaken everything form the forces of nature to some abstract ideology as a revelation from God or revelation of God. The fact is that God has indeed revealed himself to man. He revealed Himself through His son Jesus. Man is his greatest creation and was created so that he could worship, fellowship, and glorify his creator. When that fellowship was destroyed, God wanted it restored. God knew man could never live a perfect life. That would be what it would take to restore complete fellowship. When Adam disobeyed God he died spiritually. From that day on the sin nature was in mankind from his birth. All men were dead spiritually. The hold of sin over man needed to be broken. Jesus broke that hold and restored man's position before God. Man no longer has to remain spiritually dead. We can be born again from spiritual death and into the kingdom of God. A kingdom of life, miracles, and everlasting life. |
