About Open Office and "odt" Files

Open Office is a complete office suite. It is completely free. Like Firefox browser and many other programs it is an open source program. That means it is written by many people all over the world. It is an excellent program. I use WordPerfect and many people can not open those files. I use OpenOffice because it will open almost all file formats. It is free and I can find few short comings. Newer word processors will open the "odt" files.

The "odt" files are very small. less than 1/3 the size of an equivalent "doc" file and only 1/4 to 1/5 the size of a "rtf" file.
