Hunting Island Light
The foundation in the foreground was the caretaker's house.
Hunting Island was so named because of an abundance of wild game many
years ago. People from all around would go there to hunt deer and other
game animals for food. Every one from local people, the navy and even pirates
used the island as a source of food. There is an excellent swimming beach and
bathhouse here in Hunting Island State Park.
